Blyth Estuary Group images of recent river activity and attempts to curtail the resultant defence breaches. This picture was added on the 25th July 2008.
Picture by John Huggins shows the method by which all 2000 sandbags were transported from Walberswick Quay to the breachs by a flotilla of boats and then from the boats to the breach. By this stage most of the sandbags had been covered by the tide and weighed close to 25kg.
