Blyth Estuary Group
Picture 10

Blyth Estuary Group images of recent river activity and attempts to curtail the resultant defence breaches. This picture was added on the 25th July 2008.

Here is the third dam to be built in the main breach. It was constructed by workers from Natural England. It is a substantial construction of some 800 sandbags, but it is being overtopped by the tide and there are concerns that this needs to be reinforced as soon as possible. Picture by Peter Shore.
